I know the entity bean in EJB2 is replaced by EJB3 JPA and MDB is still part of EJB3. What about session bean is EJB2? Is session bean still in EJB3? I was told that EJB3 is a blend of Spring and Hibernate. Is it true? [ March 17, 2008: Message edited by: Jim Baker ]

Session beans are in EJB 3.

JPA is a blend of Spring and Hibernate. Another way of looking at is that Spring and Hibernate are implementations of JPA.
