Job prospects in Chicago for Java/J2ee

Hello,

How is the job prospects for Java/J2EE people in Chicago ?

And what is generally pay scale ,I am having 5+ experience in the same and planning to be in US by Aug'07 on L2 visa.

Please let me know if anybody has idea.

There is a definate shortage in Chicago. Sears is actively hiring top tier J2EE developers and has a number of open positions currently.

So is GE Healthcare in Barrington - just outside of Chicago. Lots of open positions - J2EE, design patterns and the like. I believe the website is gecareers.com. And they pay well.

My company just hired like 30 java developers in Chicago a few months ago. So the market there must be in need.
