Hi,

I have some ejbs deployed on a server. For invoking/using those ejbs, I need to create a client for it.

Do I need to have app. server(like weblogic etc) for creating a client ?

or I can invoke through some standalone java client program/ jsp client deployed on tomcat.

Please help.

Thanks,
Neeraj.

A stand alone client should be fine.

thanks paul. if it's possible please provide some sample code.

what sort of permission a client needs to have to be able to hit the ejbs.

for example- GetAppData ejb is deployed on websphere server at x.x.x.x ip at yyyy port.

and I want to invoke the GetAppData ejb from a different system with ip t.t.t.t

what permission m/c t.t.t.t needs to have for accessing ejb on x.x.x.x ip at yyyy port.

Thanks again
Neeraj.

IBM provides sample code and extensive detail on the setup.

You'd need firewall permissions (on the ports etc) to access the remote machine. Beyond that, it depends on what EJB security settings you have set up if any.
