For the Local Interface I read that they have ability to share data between client and bean through call by reference.

What does mean as Java goes by Call by value mechanism ?

This has a very good explanation about Call by reference and call by value.

So as explained in the FAQ,

If the (local interface) method changes some of the attributes of the object, it changes the original object (passed by the client).
