The method initialContext.lookup("java:comp/env/myDatabase");

generated the following exception

javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
at javax.naming.spi.NamingManager.getInitialContext(NamingManager.java:645)
at javax.naming.InitialContext.getDefaultInitCtx(InitialContext.java:247)
at javax.naming.InitialContext.getURLOrDefaultInitCtx(InitialContext.java:284)
at javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(InitialContext.java:351)
at enterprise.Test2.getMyDatabase2(Test2.java:54)
at enterprise.Test2.doTest(Test2.java:36)
at enterprise.Test2.main(Test2.java:46)

How do i resolve this?

Chinomso,

You are missing the jndi.properties file in your classpath. Here is some material that might help: http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=384904.
