I am writing a Java application that basically uploads a file from a local machine to a server. Can someone tell me how this can be done.

Open an HTTP connection from an applet to a servlet. The open an object stream and the file as one object.

Could u please tell me whether u r using HTML or applets From the local machine? U can really get good help from Orielly's book on Servlets
