Does anyone know if there is any way to identify an intranet user by identifying their IP address. We have a web server running in a demilitarized zone that forwards requests to an application server. Intranet users access the application server directly. We would like consolidate these machines but we need a way of identifying internet users so that their information can be encrypted using certificates.
Thanks!

If their IP is one of the following (or is in any of the following ranges), then, as I understand it, they're coming from an internal (i.e., intranet) address.
Subject:private routable IP addresses
Class A: 10.x.x.x
Class B: 172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x
Class C: 192.168.x.x

After identifying that, how do you set up certificates so that they do not encrypt responses to those IP addresses.
Thanks
