Hi Ranchers,
I working in a MNC from last two years on AS/400 technology. But i am not that much interested in AS/400 as in JAVA so i want to change my technology to JAVA/J2EE. I have done SCJP1.4 with 88%, but i don't have any experience in JAVA.

My long term planning is to go to Migration projects where applications are migrated from AS/400 to JAVA , so that i can utilize my both of skills(AS/400 and JAVA)

please advise me , what should i do in this case?.
Which is the good(scop wise) technology(i.e. struts, servlets, jbeans, netbeans,Hibernate etc.) i should go for ?
Is this the write step?

thanks,
Rakesh

Download

-- JDK 1.5 download
-- JBoss server
-- Eclipse IDE + JBoss plugin (for J2EE)
-- MySQL (or any other open source relational database)

Build a self-taught sample project using

-- JSF or Spring MVC or Struts for Web Module
-- Spring and/or EJB
-- Hibernate

This should give you some confidence. May be before using JSF, Spring MVC or Struts you can use Servlets and JSP first.

good luck.
