I need to generate an Excel sheet from a Java application. Is this possible? If so, what is the method?

Do a search on all the forums and you should find lots of info on this topic. I believe it is a simple as 'pipe' or comma delimiting a text file.

easiest way is to generate a CSV file (comma separated values).
create a text file with .csv extension and write your values separated by ',' or ';' in it. like:
10.0990, 9090.1,1000
23, 3434.322, 9090909090
and so on.
if you need to write real excel stuff with formulas and formating, then this wont work.
