GMail has an option of starred mails. If you feel any of your mail is important and may need to read in future you can check the star (i dont know whether it's a checkbox or a button). And you can see that mail in starred mails as you can see sent mails, inbox etc. Can we at javaranch have such an option so that we can check the star mark for the posts which we feel are useful and can refer them easily whenever i login , instead of searching again...

Thanks and Regards,

Vinod

As this feature is not available in Javaranch at the moment , what I do is , copy the URL and store it in a file with some suitable heading for further lookup.

I use del.icio.us for this purpose when I need to. Just create a tag for JavaRanch, and use that to hold links to topics of interest.
The only caveat is that the links to certain topics may change over time, so you should note down the title of the topic when you store the link. Then a JavaRanch search or Google search of JavaRanch can be used to find that topic if the link is no longer valid.

Bookmarking of threads, along with a more full-featured notification system, are the most frequently requested features for the Saloon. We hope to announce something in this area soon.

An interesting option for managing bookmarks -if the built-in capability of the browser is not sufficient- is http://del.icio.us/. It supports tagging, descriptions, sharing, etc. of bookmarks.

Adding add to del.icio.us or other popular social bookmakings to Javaranch might be useful.

I have asked the similar question in a different manner here .

I also welcome and look forward for that feature.

Howdy, Rahul. You too in the same boat? Great...

Hey Raghavan! I do not see any other convenient way of keeping track of interesting threads.

Same here. At times, i do save the complete html files, which would save me from being on the internet. Still it lacks the improved or updated replies on the same thread which we need to take care on a periodical basis.
