Read and Write Files on a Network

Hi I am trying to read/write files over a network and my app runs on a Unix box(so mapping ruled out). How can i do this?

Well, you can do it using RMI. Depending on the application, Jini may also be an option.

Thanks Mark,
But i used java.net.URLConnection class to get the connection to the machine and the file system therein. It was really a piece of cake after i had a look at the API for the class.
