Does anyone know of a make tool out there that I could use for my windows based application? I previously did research and I found out about the ANT tool but from what I understand that's only for unix based compiles. Is there a tool that I can use for doing makes on my PC?

Ant works fine on Windows. I am using it on NT4. I can't remember exactly what I did to download or to install it, but don't remember it being difficult.
Ant really is very simple to use, compared to alternatives I've seen (e.g. JAM). If your project is mostly or entirely in the world of Java, Ant has to be the way to go.

Download Ant from Jakarta.
You would want the zip file for windows.

Ant works on any system that supports Java. There is an article in the March JavaRanch Newsletter about how to use Ant.
