Installation of jre on windows XP is possible ?

When i installed jre on xp it can not allow me for installation. IS there any plug-in is req ?which version of jre i installed and which plug-in for that req. help me it really urgent for me.baz i made programme which is java based but with out jre it's not work on xp. it's work on all windows os accept xp.

I installed the SDK 1.3, which installs JRE on Windows XP and it worked fine. Maybe you downloaded a wrong version. You will find the latest version under JDK1.4 Download area

I have run both 1.3 and 1.4 under XP with no trouble at all.
