applet trouble on yahoo games

for whatever reason our computer will no longer load the first screen after making the table selection. The computer says it is done loading but the applet never loads, just the advertisement picture at the top. it used to work fine. Pool is the only game I know how to play but it won't load the other games either.
Tried all the suggestion offered on the website. Also downloaded java again. I do however get a box in the upper left corner with 3 colors in it. Small box, can't click on it or do anything else, except go back to previous page.
any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

What version of Java are you using? What web browser (and version)?
What is the url of the page that you are trying to use?
