I have a capture card in my computer and I want to write code that reads from the capture card and saves the image as a jpeg. Attached to the capture card will be a video source. (Video Camera)
I really dont know where to begin.

I'd start by looking through the documentation that came with it (or the companies web page). You should probably find a phone number to call, so you could request a development kit, or specifications of how the card is to be used programmically.

Well, I can get any software to read from it, but I would like to create my own software. It should be generic, but does anyone know how I can get started doing that.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
