You should ask company people about what the "Technical Specialist" work in their company? In many companies your work is not dependent on your job title. With your experience mostly you will be involving in development and design.

The work, platform, and environment are very specific. I have learned that the applicant should ask these clearly during the interviews. Otherwise, you will end up undecided on an offer as you would not know which of the offers actually fits your career target.

Ayub The position is equivalent to Senior Software Engineer, actually they have two streams. one is management stream there its equivalent to programmer analyst and in the technical stream its Technical specialist

Hi brother.. i think i know which company is offering you... well, i should tell you that the role of a technical specialist is something in which you will not be involved in a project for all the life cycles.. you will be there only for the technical architecture consultancy and then move onto other projects... but what may actually happen inside is like you may end up doing what a software engineer is doing... the pro may be that you may get lof of onsite opportunities.

Hi Pawan Thanks for the reply, i enquired with some of the people working over there, they also said the same thing, The role involves lot of design and coding activities and less of project management work and its equivalent to that of a senior software engineer, this roles grooms the individual to a technical architect
