Native Call to DLL

I have been given a DLL and need to call a method in the DLL. I am having problems with the method and would like to see what this method does. Is there a way to "decompile" the dll to see the method code?

I don't think we have enough information to answer this.
What system (OS, CPU, etc.) is this DLL for? Do you know anything about which language(s) it was created with? Was it built with naming (a.k.a "debug") information in it?
Any more that you can tell us would be a great help.

DLL is for Window and I think it was written in C/C++ (not to sure on this one). There is a validate method that I need to call and it takes 2 strings as parameters.
Need more info?
