Short answer: probably not.
Longer answer: try checking out Jakarta's POI project, specifically HDF.

You could create a text file and give it the .doc extension -> this would give you an unformatted word file. Alternatively you could look at the RTFEditorKit and try to use it to create a rich text format file which Word can read. Never done it so that's as much as I can help.
