I passed the SCJP 5.0 exam on 1st october 2007. I haven't yet found any company taking a novice SCJP candidate for java jobs. Companies in India are asking for huge experiance in java but no one really cares about SCJP or above. Well I am still looking out for opportunities.

Hi maltesh,
well, thanks JavaRanch,I get the scjp and scwcd in 2005.
At that time I still a student in school.
And when I start to find my first job,the certifigate didn't make any useful to me.
But the knowledge in studying scjp/scwcd help me many time in my joblfie in next 2 years.
I am in china, all world computer company asking for huge experiance ,but they also need fresher, any way ,you first wage may be just so so.But it can give you the experence what you most need.
In china ,about 1/15 companys in their job description will say Sun certificate is better.
Good lucky

Work on a sample project using sought after technologies like Spring, Hiberante, JSF, Struts etc. You can find some free tutorials at http://www.lulu.com/java-success and expand on it make it a decent size project. Nothing beats hands-on experience.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
