Hi Don,
Still in Japan. Objects which are no longer referenced are termed garbage, and the process of finding and reclaiming these objects is known as garbage collection. Taken from the language founder's book.

Those links decribing gc processes and manipulations. I originally thought you need the gc definition. Anyway, good links.
