My appologies If this is not the suitable forum

I am a Java programmer with 3 years Experience

The project to which I was alloted has finished and New projects will start only from January.
My PM asked me whether Im interested in Java or data staging, for which I told Java.

She told if there are any Java projects available now, shell put me in that .Otherwise, she wants me for one of the data staging projects.

Today she asked me to join data staging project
I dont know if once I join this project, Ill able to go back to J2EE stream or not
Can you please give me your opinion on whats to be done

What do you mean by data staging? Do you mean data migration?

once your billing starts, company will not move you out untill project gets finished or say at least for a year time.
So for you, if you are interested in Java work, time to be very firm and say 'NO' to work for data staging project.

Hope you know good tactics to say 'NO'.
