IllegalArguementException

Just wondering if anyone can give me a direction to look other than the paths we have been going down with this one. In our production environment we get this description of an error. However in all local environments used for testing, we can not get the same result.
Can anyone help me out on how/when this is thrown?

Can you post the stack trace and the corresponding code segment, -- it will make it much easier to analyse the problem.
