As part of our project, we need to identify the printers that are attached to the server and then able to configure the printers for speacific purpose. Meaning, if theere are two printers A and B attached to the server, then Printer A should be used for printing Word documents and Printer B should be used to print PDF documents.

This doesn't sound like you need to configure the printer. What you may need to do is configure your application to know which printer to use when it tries to print a Word or PDF document.
You can do this using configuration files, hard coded, etc.
