Sun's JVM implementation for Windows is written in...?

I've done some searching here and on the web and am still not clear on what language was used to write Sun's JVM for Windows. Is it the instruction set listed here: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/vmspec/html/Instructions.doc.html

Does anyone have links to further discussion about this topic and/or links to threads here on javaranch?

Thanks

Sun's JVMs are written in C/C++ with a little assembly thrown in. The VM instruction set is the VM instruction set -- it's part of what was written, not part of what was used to do the writing.
