Help needed for a java/j2ee career in Dubai

Hello Ranchers,
What's your opinion about the IT industry and its status in Dubai?
How about the way / procedure to get a job in IT industry (java/j2ee) ? If someone could help in referring an employer, it would be great and a value added help.

There is no such thing as IT industry in Dubai. All they do it develop systems outside Dubai - UK, US, etc and deploy the code there. I was born and brought up there, worked there for 6 months and came back to India. They do not know the difference between a web designer and a web developer. You stand a chance of getting a job if you know VB - Access or Oracle Financials, SAP.
But again, software professionals do not prefer working in Dubai because of visa rules. You can't switch jobs without getting a ban of atleast 6 months.
Indian IT companies have their presence in Dubai but its as good as none. Mindtree, Patni are some companies I know. But its mostly testing related work.

There are lots of opportunties in Dubai for JAVA/J2EE. In fact our company was looking for around 5 Engineers and we got only 3. There are good openings in Goverment Sectors as well as Private Sectors.
@Deepak,
May be you are not aware of the current market or current trend in Dubai. There is a place called Dubai Internet City where you can find most of the top sofware companies. I believe even SUN has Development center here. Not sure even though they have office in DIC. Dubai has lots of opportunity and its nice place to live if you have a good take home.
