I disagree. I did a lot of hiring in 2003/2004 in the Boston area and had no problem finding good people then (and I'd like to think I wasn't making unrealistic expectations).

Mark just out of interest, in your hiring process what type of mix do you look for in tems of technical skills versus soft skills?
Especially:
-- excellent technical skills/okay soft skills : potential hire/nohire
-- excellent soft skills/okay technical skills : potential hire/nohire
Do you classify analytical, problem solving & domain skills as soft skills?
