Hi all,

Does anyone know of any web services, or other application integration related open source project ?

I would like to take participate in open source projects in this area, can anyone give me some tips on how I can go about this ?

The Apache open source web service related projects are now reachable from this site.
A very large collection of goodies, indeed.
If you want the very latest APIs try the Glassfish open source project.

I don't know that there is a formal way of joining. You can subscribe to the developer mailing list, and start submitting bug fixes and enhancements. If your contributions are regarded highly enough, you'll likely get invited to become a submitter after a while.
