Application communication

Hi,
I have a swing and web application.
How can I make these applications communicate with each other?
I want to pass data from one application to another.
I don't want to use applet in this case.
Could anyone mail me the list of other options?

If you are going to develop these two applications,you can use a same middle tie to resolve the communication problem.
If not,depend on the structure of the two applications,the approach may be different.
Can you tell us more detail about the two applications' structure,and what the communications concretely are ?
