Hi everyone!!

I have made one application which is doing some validation on the files present in my c drive. But now i want my application to do some validations on files present on c drive of remote computer. Remote computer is present in US and I access it using VPN using remote desktop connection. I dont have much idea from where to start ? just guide me in which direction i should start - java rmi ? networking ? or any other thing, i dont thing these two as there is no client server in my application. just a standalone application present at my system.

regards,

Welcome to Javaranch.

If you have VPN access you should be able to mount the directories of the remote machine. Then you can use the jCIFS library (jcifs.samba.org) to access those files. It's easy, since the API very closely mimicks the java.io classes.
