{Note for readers, Mark's directions are for me... }
I have been googling for about twenty minutes. I thought I would work your idea to see what comes of it. The first one I have found that I am going to spend the time to look at is: http://www.gofreelance.com/programming/java-programmer.html
The basis of this decision is the way their site runs. The others are too crappy.

Thanks guys for your responses. Is there any rancher who is doing freelance work?
I am SCJP and SCWCD and have 4.5yrs experience in java. I am planning to start freelancing. Please recommend me websites from where i can get projects / assignments
I worked independently for several years. I'm in the US, I don't know if the situation is the same abroad, but I did not have any success with "freelancing" websites. Half of my work came from local headhunters and half came from contacts I had (friend of a friend knew someone who's company needed a resource).

I was going to say that. People do not want to hear that. The are much greater in numbers than we would think.
