Layout for multiple trees

I need to add 3 different trees into a scroll pane one under the other. What I did was, added all the trees into a pane with BoxLayout(Y_AXIS), this pane to a viewport, and the viewport to a scrollpane.
Is this a correct way?
this comes close to my requirement but the only problem is the width(not the height) of the tree is not honoured.
