JFileChooser

Have anyone noticed that i the "SaveDialog" of JFileChooser the 'Details' button on the top right corner is always pressed and one cannot toggle between 'Details' and 'List'. I believe its abug, if any one has come across this do please let me know. Secondly how do i get the File Types as ".xml" and remove the "All Files(*.*)" option in the "Files of Type :" combobox.

You need to create a filter. From the API

    ExampleFileFilter filter = new ExampleFileFilter();
    filter.addExtension("jpg");
    filter.addExtension("gif");
    filter.setDescription("JPG & GIF Images");
    chooser.setFileFilter(filter);
    int returnVal = chooser.showOpenDialog(parent);
    if(returnVal == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) {
       System.out.println("You chose to open this file: " +
            chooser.getSelectedFile().getName());
