This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
It is very possible to get a job without experience as long as you have a will and required knowledge for the job. When I got my first job as a Java Developer, I never had any experience of it, but I possessed the required knowledge for junior developer role. I didn't even have any certification at that time.
Certification is handy for beginners but does not mean that you can get a highly paid job. There are lots of other factors involved like your soft skills, marketing skills, personal traits, etc. [ August 19, 2008: Message edited by: arulk pillai ]
