Hi All,
This is about my experience in one of the biggest investment banking company. I have 2 years of Java experience. There was writtern test conducted and then there was a technical interview. After which one person came and we sat on sofa and he started explaining about the project for which the interview was there. He said that they would be calling in next week for another round of i/w. But they didn't called and when i contacted HR the person said that i was rejected in the second round. I was bit suprised, but then i realised that i was in interview when that person was explanining the project. Although no issues with the company, no issues with the interview process, i just wanted to ask if there are any chances of reconsideration after being rejected by the lead of project( It was non technical and he was only taking all the time). I mean should i keep any hopes of reconsideration or just forget it

Don't be disappointed that they didn't shortlist you. One important thing is that company doesn't carry you forward in career but yourself. However instead asking them to reconsider ask them, what did you do wrong? What are the aspects you could improve on and work on them. Sure you will get through the ordeal.

Thanks for reply Santhosh, i am bit disappointed because i get a feeling that it could been converted to an offer, if it would have been known to me that the discussion was actually an interview. I thought at that point of time that it was just a discussion

Set backs are the stepping stones to do bigger things. We can learn a lot more from our mistakes and every set back should motivate you more. There are plenty of other companies.

These things happen. Some people get rejected simply for answering a question incorrectly the first time. Look for other job opportunities and do not be disappointed.
