resizing a Jlist's width by the user[urgent]

Hi, I have a JFrame that contains a JList,I want this to be resized in it's width by the user.For eg. in "windows find files & folders" we can resize the columns of the search list,similarly I want this to be done.Please reply as soon as possible.

I think that JSplitPane does what you want...
