This might feel funny to you'll. But I am new at learning GUI. I have almost studied the rest of Java programming like classes, interfaces etc. Could anyone help me with how to start on it. And the best book and site for learning it. Thanks in advance.

Hi, The best way to start on it is to visit Sun's site & go thru their online tutorial which has a GUI section. Then you can also refer to books such as 1) Graphics Java Vol I ( AWT ) & Vol II ( Swing) by David M. Geary 2) Definitive Guide to Swing by John Zukowski 3) Swing by Matthew Robinson Then u could also visit lots of sites on the net , for eg: http://www.swtech.com/java/guidev/ http://www.apl.jhu.edu/~hall/java/Swing-Tutorial/ & u could also learn a lot from Javaranch itself Vinod

After going through the tutorial. Play around with the layout managers. Learn what happens when you place components. Where do they end up. Do they change size. After you get the hang of the layouts work on events.
