Hi, I have heard that Java doesn't have many opportunities for freshers in Delhi/NCR,India as compared to Dot Net which has many opportunities. Is this true? If I want to make a career in Java as an MCA fresher in Delhi/NCR what can I do to improve my prospects? Thanks.

What makes you say that? I think there are about the same for Dot net and Java. I am seeing alot of J2ME these days also. [ August 31, 2008: Message edited by: Arvind Birla ]

Well I've heard from two-three people that one needs to be have B.Tech or experience to land a Java job particularly in Delhi/NCR whereas there are nay small-medium companies that hire Dot Net freshers. Your advice is appreciated since I myself am interested in Java itself.

I don't think so, there are lot many Java/J2EE opportunities in Delhi/NCR region as compared to .NET, for eg. in my company about 80% of the projects are in J2EE and very few in .NET. For any entry level jobs(0-3 yrs)you should have a degree(BE,BTech,MCA) otherwise it is difficult to find a job in large branded companies however there are many smaller organisations who are little bit flexible.
