I have a JApplet with a 'File Menu' menu in which there are about 10 menuitems. I load the html file in which this applet is embedded through a browser(IE65.0). When I bring the internet browser(when it is not maximized) close to the bottom of the screen, and click on the file menu, then if all the menu items cannot be displayed(because the menu is close to the bottom), then menu items are displayed above the menu i.e. the drop down menu appears above the File' menu. So the drop down menu display is auto adjusted depending on the location of the menu relative to the screen. But in windows, there is also the System tray(the task bar in the bottom side of the screen). If the browser is placed in such a position, that all the menu items of the menu in the applet would have been visible had the system tray been not there, then usually the last menuitem disappears behind the task bar. Try to increase the height of the System tray and more and more menu items disappear behind the System tray. Is there no way, a) I can relocate the whole set of menuitems(i.e the Drop down menu) to be displayed above the menu when it goes behind the task bar. b) I can know the width of the Windows system taskbar? please give me your idea even if you are not sure of the solution, because I know it is not easy. thanks in advance.
