Advice about writing a code editor!

I want to start from a simple code editor.
It's func only include hightlight reserve word
etc.
For example,There's only a JTextArea,a Document in it,a DocumentListener...

The Jedit project makes available the package which implements an editor pane that will allow you to do syntax highlighting.
You could always look at the actual Jedit code but the package by itself makes for an easier read. =)
