Sending an event to JComponent

Hi *,
does anybody know how to send an AWTEvent to a component -in this case a JPanel ?
I created a MouseEvent in a JPanel A and want a JPanel B to react. Both are part of the same JContainer.

try this:

MouseEvent e = new MouseEvent(panelB, MouseEvent.MOUSE_RELEASED, theTime,
theModifiers, x, y, me.getClickCount(), me.isPopupTrigger());
panelB.dispatchEvent(e);
