All Windows are square/rectangle. Even those oval ones you see. What they are doing is using a square image with a shape on it. Everything outside of the shape has been given transparent properties. Thus giving the effect of an oval or mishapen window.
Java doesn't do this because it is considered an OS Dependent procedure. And JAVA is supposed to be System Independent.
L2FPROD is a JAVA API with some JNI wrapper DLL's that will allow you to create non-square windows. IT ONLY WORKS IN WINDOWS!!!
