Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem figuring out how to launch my swing
application remotely. I'm moving it to CVS running in linux. Should I move only the classes and if so, do I need to put them in a jar file. The ideal is to allow others to execute the app remotely instead of installing it on their desktop. My IDE is ecilpse. I'ven't came across anything that can help me. I never done this before and would appreciate your help. thanks.

I think you need to describe what you mean by "launch remotely" in more detail....

You could use a regular Applet in a browser. If that's too restrictive, you could use Java Web Start. If *that's* too restrictive you could use a custom solution, like a small starter app that uses one of the many available distributed technologies available to Java (Sockets, RMI, Jini, JXTA, CORBA, etc.) to provide the actual contents of your application.
