capture painted graphics outside canvas?? pls help

i'm trying to create an image from a canvas using createImage but i want to include graphics that are painted outside the canvas not only the ones i can see..
how is this possible? every and any help appreciated

createImage takes a width and height. You could create an image with a comfortable margin on your canvas. What more do you need (other than a reminder that the image's coordinate system starts at 0,0, so you will need to do some transformation before painting the canvas)?
