hi, I am new to Java, while I am doing a project, one of function is reading the attribute and value(large amount of data) from file (like TXT log file) and post them in a table, at the same time calculate those values and draw a chart in a panel. since in a hurry, can't study one by one, hope to find some samples on this subject. If you know such sample, please tell me where to get it!

Really appreciate your any help !!! :-)

reading data from a file should not be the problem. Just look at the Java Tutorial IO Trail how to do this.
Writing data into a JTable is easy as well: Just look here for a start.
Producing a chart is more tricky if you want to code it yourself. But you could try JFreeChart which makes chart painting much easier.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your help! I know what content you provide, they are really good, but provide function separately. What I want is a integrated one which can read each attribute from TXT file and post them in corresponding column of table(since I am not good at coding and need more specific sample so that I could modify it ). For the chart part, you are right, I supposed to use jfreechart lib.

Anyway thanks! Actually you provide all the necessary tutorial and tool to implement those functions.

I agree. Here's the link:
