I would just like to say that the experience that I have had here is so great. I have took classes on VB 6.0 and never got over the programming hump you could say. I have designed applications in VB by making the forms and the buttons etc. but always had a programming friend of mine code the backend stuff becuase we needed the software quick. And I would always have to go back to work and I could never spend quality time trying to code. I found the Head First Java book and thought I would take another chance on trying to learn to program. I wanted to change from VB to get away from microsoft and go to a universal lang like java. The book so far has been good and mainly this place has kept me involved. That is a main draw to the ranch is that I can learn from the book and then post questions to a multitude of java programmers that will really respond (and rather quickly). So my hat is off to everyone of you who spend your time helping us newbies feel at home (and to Paul for having this site.) I could almost gaurantee the java world is better because of this site alone!! I hope I can post answers to peoples questions in the future to give back to this wonderful place.
