SourceBeat is a new publishing company that publishes online books for Open source projects. One innovative aspect of the SourceBeat publishing model is its call for continuous updates to the titles, keeping readers abreast of the most recent happenings with their technologies. Subscribers can assist in the determination of content and prioritization of the updates by utilizing the special author blogs to communicate with the authors about what they see andread. Subscribers can expect to see updates to both Eclipse Live and Struts Live on a monthly basis.
Rick is currently working on new material for the book including chapters on AppFuse and JSF/Struts integration.
The news of the release of the two titles comes at the start of SD West 2004, held in Santa Clara, California. Attendees to the conference will have a chance to meet Rick Hightower, author of Struts Live, as he will be presenting two sessions during the conference including 'Extending Struts' and 'J2EE development with XDoclet and Ant.' In addition SourceBeat will be showcasing their publishing model and releasing new books into the ERP during SD West. Members of the SourceBeat publishing team and authors will be available for interview and comment during SD West, March 15-19, in Santa Clara, California.
