After more than a year of planning, and two months of feverish effort,I am pleased to announce that version 2.1.1 of Friki, the Java Wiki software that powers the Java Ranch FAQ, is now available for download from sourceforge. Major new features include: a fully-externally-configured transformation engine, allowing all the details of how wiki pages are converted to HTML to be changed and added to without restarting the server or the application. Along the way we've fixed a whole bunch of formatting niggles.Full support for accented and other non-ASCII characters in text, page names and searchingsimple, robust and complete build process. To build your own Friki you now just need a source release, Java and Ant.Friki will now keep your pages and configurations safe across upgrades and server changes - just drop in a new war file, and away you go.and deployment is still as simple as dropping in a war file to any servlet container supporting version 2.3 or later of the servlet API. Anyone using the old stable release (2.0.6) or earlier is strongly urged to upgrade.
