There are a few heavyweight components that are part of the javax.swing package, however they aren't really Swing components in the true sense. JFrame, JDialog, JWindow, are all Heavyweight because they are drawn by the OS. Swing components like JButton, JLabel, etc are all drawn by java's graphics API's (Graphics & Graphics2D), and that in part makes them lightweight components.
