Modal:true or false?

My code like this:

Does it modal to false mean another thread?
I want to set the modal still to true, but want an effect of false modal. How to do this?
Why I need to do this? Because I'm using JavaHelp. When a button container is a none modale dialog, the help form will show as a JDialog. That's what I want to avoid.

Thanks in advance.

To be or not to be. It's a question.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
