Querying Arrays with ArraySQL

The ability to query, sort and format arrays with a SQL-like syntax has been added to the FormattedDataSet API. Here is an example.

 
Object[][] data=...
String[] header={"fname","lname","salary","ssn"};
 
ArraySQL asql=new ArraySQL("select rowNum(), * from array where lname = 'jones' and salary>100000 order by salary desc, lname asc");
// Executes query
data=asql.execute(data);
// execute query and convert data for display.  For example a salary like
// 150000 could possibly be changed to 150,000
data=asql.convert(data);
 

There is lots more to the open source FormattedDataSet API, but certainly it makes handling arrays much easier. http://www.fdsapi.com
